Motorcycle Repair: 1977 Honda Gold Wing wiring, honda gold wing, return spring

Question
Hi Mark,
I just got mu fist bike it is a 1977 Honda Gold Wing GL100 and have been working on it, but I cannot figure out where three wires go.  I cant get it started so those wire must be the problem.  They are on the left side of the bike and come out right by the battery.  Can you please help me so I can get my bike started?  Also when i try and kick start it, the lever goes down, and i have to pull it back up.  When i do this it clicks when comming up, and i can push and pull it up and down but the motor wont turn over.

Answer
Hi Rob,

What color are the three wires? Are they separate or come together in one half of a electrical connector? Can you trace the wires to anyplace other than the battery?

The kick starter should be checked by a local tech. I suspect the return spring is defective, unattached, or other problems exist.

Visit: "www.randakks.com" This is a good GL1000 resource.

Include your email address with your reply. I return tech files by email.
