Motorcycle Repair: REAR BRAKE LINK ON KAWASAKI, kawasaki 650, dumb reason

Question
I have a '81 Kawasaki 650 CSR and I went to replace the rear drum brake shoes and (for some dumb reason) loosened the brake arm that attaches to the hub and then pushed on the brake pedal. I guess it spun and now that I have the new brakes on and reset the chain tightness, I don't have any brake pedal. I can't figure out how to reset the arm so that it has tension on it. The link nut that attaches the brake rod to the arm is too loose and you can turn it with your hand. I have the arm in the most forward position (without dragging), but it still has too much pedal. How can I reset it to the proper position? Thanks for your help, this is driving me nuts!

Answer
Hi Allen,

Loosen the axle nut and chain adjusters and tighten the brake arm.

Tighten axle nut and adjust chain.

Adjust the nut on the brake adjustment rod in to take up slack in the brake pedal.
