Motorcycle Repair: touch up, plastic body filler, light scratches

Question
i have a 2005 R6 raven and i have dropped it recently and the bike ended up with light scratches in the fairings...what materials could i use to fix the scratches and how can i match the factory paint schemes?

Answer
Hi Jon,

My experience with ABS plastic is limited to plasti-welding and using plastic body filler prior to refinishing. Road racing quickly consumes original parts.

I've learned to make molds of new body parts and fabricate new fiberglass body parts. Inital start-up costs to acquire a gel coat gun and related equipment is costly. Once you have the molds, parts come as needed and very cheaply.

Not desirable for a street MC, so the more expensive repair and refinish procedures is required to restore the blems to like new condition.
