Motorcycle Repair: Transmission, transmission gear, bikebandit com

Question
I have an 1983 Suzuki GS450TXD motorcycle and it appears that one of the gears is stuck is this possible? I have pulled in the clutch and hand turned the rear wheel with the bike in the highest gear. I then did the same stepping down through the gears until I reached what I think is the first gear which appeared to be the stuck one. Again is this possible or could the clutch be stuck and it didnt swith gears at all. I dunno I'm a new rider and it's my first bike. Help!

Answer
Hi David,

Good diagnosis approach. I know more experienced persons who would not have even thought of rotating the wheel through gears.

Yes, a transmission gear or gears may worn or defective. You should have a local tech inspect the problem for you.
