Motorcycle Repair: oil in my air box, check oil level, crankcase oil

i have a yamaha maxim x 750 1985. when i went to replace my air filter i fond the box to be full of oil after cleaning and replacing i went for a quick ride then checked again to find that it has filled with oil again. i still have good power and no visable smoke from my pipes.

Hi Steve,

Check oil level and correct as necessary.

If the crankcase oil is overfilled, combustion blow-by gasses will force oil to travel trough the crankcase vent hose and into the airbox.

Check and drain the airbox drain tube, too.
