Motorcycle Repair: Why does my bike hate me?, shively, fzr

Question
I have a 1993 fzr. The bike was running tops 3 days ago. I played with the idle adjust screw. The bike seemed fine afterwards, but progresively it started running a little rougher, when rolling in gear (no throttle) it would sort of act like it was getting spurts of gas accelerating slightly then backing off. I asked someone else to look at it he took out a spark plug examined it and said it was covered in gas (flooded) he played with the idle. End result bike no longer starts. Can you help

Answer
Hi Jeremy,

Remove all sprak plugs, remembering which cylinder each was removed from. The cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 from left to right when seated on the MC.

Visit "www.ngk.com/sparkplug411.asp" and compare your plugs to those on the website under "Plug Problems" on the left menu.

Get the service manual. You'll need it for any service or troubleshooting that you perform.

Clean or replace the spark plugs. Try starting the engine. Let me know what happens.

Include your email address as requested. I return tech information files by email.
