Question
I have a 1982 honda cb900f that i purchased several weeks ago, it has a volt meter while riding the meter indicated no power and shortly after the bike shut off, I then bought a new battery and the bike started right up, while the bike was running I disconected the battery terminal (positive) the bike shut off, I dont have a shop manuel and I am not sure if I did any further damage, I was told not to do this, I am not riding the bike at this time but it starts right up i dont believe the bike is charging the battery

Answer
Anthony,

Get a copy of the service manual.

Follow the illustrated procedures on performing an output test of the charging system.

Perform remaining electrical testing procedures in the manual to test charging system components.

I return test and repair information by email. There was no email address with your question as requested in my instructions.
