Motorcycle Repair: Break In, rkc, long trip

Question
I am purchasing a brand new RKC from a dealership about 600 miles away. I will be riding it back. How should I operate the bike on such a long trip?

Answer
You should break it in  like most other motorcycles. For the first 200 miles, vary your speed. Ride for a while at 50 MPH, then for a while ride at 40MPH, then for a while ride at 55MPH etc. This helps the rings seat. Change the oil at 500 miles. After that you should be fine.
