Motorcycle Repair: 1994 Suzuki LT80, suzuki lt80, cdi function

Question
Bought a non-running 1994 Suzuki LT80 atv. Compression check revealed low compression: broke a ring. Had the cylinder cleaned up and installed new piston/rings. Ran great for 2 months now has wide open throttle bog. Idle to WOT is good and strong but when staying at WOT the engine runs smooth/clean for 1 second then bogs for 1 second and so on. It sounds like: zzzzzz, brrrrrr, zzzzzz, brrrrr, zzzzzz, brrrrr. I've checked the obvious: fuel feed to the carb, electrical connections, good plug, clean air filter. Any adivice would be much appreciated! Thanks! Scott

Answer
Hi Scott,

Is fuel supply is adequate for demand? No pinched fuel supply hoses or collasped vacuum hoses? What is cylinder compression checking at now? Valves adjusted to specs?

I suspect the cycling to be fuel related such as an obstructed in petcock filter/screen. Inspect float bowl basin for any contaminants; water, varnishing, rust particles, etc.

If the cycling is exact in duration and frequency, consider the symptoms as an electronic issue such as rev limiter/CDI function.
