Motorcycle Repair: Ignition coil, replacement coils, yamaha 650

I have a 1970 Yamaha 650 twin engine bike, one of the ignition coils does not work, and I've not been able to find a replacement as of this point. Was wondering if another ignition coil could be substituted for this

Hi Randall.
 There are a number of aftermarket replacement coils out there that you could use.  Check with the local parts distributor and he could tell you which one is the correct one to get for your bike.  They normally have a cross-reference chart just for that reason.

 If you do it yourself from a catalogue, you need to know the specs for the coil that you are replacing.
