Motorcycle Repair: 2004 1200 sportster modifications, slow jet, dyna jet

Hi Mike:

I just had the following installed on my 2004 1200 Sportster custom:

27170-89 slow jet
29842-04 SE a/c kit
and SE mufflers

I am not happy with the throttle response from a dead stop. The bike sort of hesitates and it makes you wait to pull out into traffic. Should I turn out the fuel idle screw a couple turns? I have done this with my last Harley and the bike ran like a top.

Any suggestions?

My best suggestion, since you have made the above changes, is to install a Dyna-jet kit. If will solve the problem you are having and give you more throttle responce. You should be able to install it yourself if you follow the directions they give you. Should take a couple of hours to do.
