Motorcycle Repair: Flat spot - Suzuki GS500e, 1996, bmw k75s, bmw r1100rs

Question
EVERY year since new, after pulling my wife's bike out of storage [about 6 months; syphon old gas; put in new; etc.] there is a "flat" or "dead" spot.  That is, you CANNOT ride the bike unless it is choked to at least some degree. If it is not, when you accelerate, it reaches a point where it simply putters to a complete stop.  SO, every year, I get a tune-up.  TOO MUCH MONEY on such an inexpensive bike!  I can't help but wonder whether the dealer and non-OEM repair shop guys "see me coming" - that they don't really tune this thing up at all, but squirt some magic schmuss in the air cleaner or dump fermented yak juice in gas tank.  NO other bike does this to me (I have a 1982 6-Cyl CBX SUperSPort; 1991 BMW K75s; 1982 Honda Turbo and 1994 BMW R1100RS. Have had SEVERAL other bikes as well - never with this problem.)  Why is this little Suzuki so "stubborn"?

Answer
Hi Mark,

I couldn't agree more about Suzuki's becoming stubborn. : )

The pilot circuits are a bit varnished. The carburetors will need thoroughly cleaned.

Send me your email addy as requested. I'll return carb tuning, cleaning, and synchronizing files that may assist you with performing repairs. Most perople can do this work at home with a few tools and supplies.
