Motorcycle Repair: 88 Suzuki GSXR-750 Electrical System / Directional Signals, suzuki gsxr 750, fender eliminator kit

Question
Hey Chris,

Spent last summer working on my Gixer. Part of it was to add a fender eliminator kit to it and two aftermarket rear turn signals.
I've got the wiring straight according to the maintenance manual I have, but still, all 4 of my turn signals will light up, but won't blink!

I even replaced the relay! Nothing.

Ever hear this one before?

Thanks in Advance of Your Response,

Mike

Answer
Hi Mike.
What is the power draw (amps, and volts) of the new lights?  Is it the same as the factory lights?  One of the problems with the newer bikes is the incompatability of some aftermarket electrical components, like turn signals.  Many of the aftermarket systems are set up for the older bikes and the manufacturers just assume that they will work.  This is not always the case.

You may have to find a way to transfer the original electrical portion of the signals into the aftermarket housing, or to relocate the factory components to the new location.

Good luck.
