Motorcycle Repair: Carb Rejetting, air fuel mixture, emaill address

Do I have to rejet the carb if I install aftermarket exhaust pipes(V&H Straightshots)I have gotten different opinions.

Hi Jim,

Technically, any changes to air intake and fuel flow requires tuning to some degree. The engine was designed mathmatically with the stock parts. Changing the plan may require some tuning. The V&H pipe may work well without tuning.

I would read the spark plugs and learn what changes need to be made with air-fuel mixture, if any. The plugs indicate what is happening during combustion burning. If you need information on how to read plugs,, send me your emaill address as requested. Send here ---> mshively1@woh.rr.com
