Nissan Repair: oil leek, crank pulley, pan gasket

Question
hello there i have a 91 Nissan pulsar still leaking engine oil after i have replaced oil pan gasket, motor is still leaking in same place could it be the main engine pulley please can someone help thanks

Answer
Place a drip pan under the motor. See if the oil leak is toward the back or toward the front. If it seems to be near the rear of the motor, bad news! It means the the rear main bearing seal is leaking and the transmission has to be separated from the motor in order for the seal to be replaced. If its near the front of the motor, the oil seal behind the crank pulley needs to be replaced and in order to do that, the timing cover needs to be removed. Also, see if there are oil marks on the left, bottom and right front of the engine, which is evidence that the timing seal leaks and spins the oil around. Did you do a good job replacing the oil pan gasket?
Good luck!
