Nissan Repair: One of Rear Brake lights is too Dim, nissan maxima, light socket

Question
Dear Expert,

My Nissan Maxima 93 has a problem with one of the brake light. When depressed the brake pedal, the rear-left-brake and the center tail lights turned on (bright red) normally, but the rear right brake light was too dim (not bright).  My daughter replaced the bulb, but the right light is still too dim.  Please advise possible causes and solutions.  Thanks in advance for help.

Answer
Hi Jimmy -

This is probably caused by a weak or faulty ground. Check to see that the light socket is free of debris, rust and corrosion. Then check the ground wire, ensure that the wire is securely connected to any part of the car body. However most of the time it is in the socket. Might have to replace that one

Hope this helps -
