Nissan Repair: 2003 Altima Heater/AC fan problem, check ebay, center cluster

QUESTION: My 2003 Altima, 3.5 has intermittent issues with the Heat/AC fan.  At times it won't blow at all and at other times it will only blow very lightly no matter what the setting.  Again, this is not a constant issue.  Any suggestions on possible causes/cures would be appreciated.

ANSWER: Jim,

The blower control is defective.  That is, the control where you push the buttons and view the display is going out.  If it were the blower it would not work at all and if it were the resistor it would only work on high blow.

Jim,

Remove the center cluster to replace the control unit.  I would also check the connections to make sure it is not a loose connection at the rear of the unit prior to purchase.

Check ebay and other on line sources.  Third one down.  Looks like $283 for a new one.
