Nissan Repair: Auto Transmission not working properly, nissan pulsar, auto transmission

Question
I have a Nissan Pulsar 2001 auto, recently I have found out that the auto transmission does not change gear when I start the car in the morning to go to work. When the engine is warmer, I have to switch the car off and wait for 5 seconds and then switch is back on to fix this problem. Could you advise why this is happing and what is the solution to fix the problem.

Quick question -

Have you checked the transmission oil level in your vehicle? and, if so, what is the color of it? It is supposed to be reddish. If it is more towards the brown side, then it needs changing, and also the transmission filter will need replacing.
