Nissan Repair: Nissan Terrano Transmission, nissan terrano, sun visor

I have engaged 4 wheel drive on my 2000 nissan terrano but when I re-engage 2 wheel drive as per the instructions on the sun visor , I am finding that I am getting a noise from the transfer box as though it has not fully dis-engaged, this is not the case all the time as it can appear to be fully disengaged then suddenly start with the noise again. Is there an adjuustment on the linkage ? or is there anything I can do to sort the problem.

There is not an adjustment, per se, as it is prboably sticking.  I would change the fluid in the transfer case and see if the problem goes away.  Also, if the noise is coming from one of the locking hubs you could disassemble it and grease it and reassemble.
