Nissan Repair: engine shacks bad, car spark plugs, nissan pathfinder

QUESTION: last Saturday after leaving the bar when press the gas the engine shakes real bad when i let off the gas it stops ,then today on my way to work it did it again even worse with the engine light on ,started it at lunch it did the same thing but on the way home it ran smooth, i checked the codes it reads 34, 51 (could that be what causes the random shaking its a 1994 Nissan pathfinder Xe v6 (please help

ANSWER: Hi Billy -

The codes are probably coming out because of the rich exhaust caused by the miss. Need to ask when was the last tune up on your car? Spark plugs, cap/rotor/wires?

QUESTION: i changed the plugs and wires less a month ago ,but not the cap and rotor ,,

Hi Billy -

OK, I would inspect the cap for carbon tracking (black streaks, usually between towers).

Also, there could be a faulty ignition module in the distributor.

How does it react when you are going up a long hill?
