Nissan Repair: Front Left Turn Signal, left turn signal, 2004 toyota 4runner

Question
I have an SUV and the front left turn signal is out.  (It is blinking rapidly and of course the bulb is not lighting up).  Obviously this would mean the bulb was burned out, so we replaced it.  For some reason, it seems like we can't get the bulb to stay in the socket properly.  It will work fine for 15 minutes or so after adjusting it, but then will fail again.  Can you please suggest how we might be able to fix that?

I actually drive a 2004 Toyota 4Runner, but there isn't a Toyota expert and I felt like this issue may not be specific to the manufacturer so I'm hoping you can help!

Answer
Leslie,

If the bulb does not fit correctly try another bulb or change the socket if a different bulb does not do the trick.  It used to be that bulbs were 1157 or 1156 and now they sell all sorts of bulbs and you have to be particular where you purchase them.  Try buying one at the dealer before thinking about replacing the socket.  It would be worth a couple of bucks for the peace of mind getting the correct one.
