Nissan Repair: still no spark, interference engine, nissan truck

Question
QUESTION: I have a 93 nissan truck, V-6 5 speed/was driving home 2 days ago when engine shut off. Replaced the coil because of very weak spark to no spark while cranking engine.Did not help engine still won't start.I have 11.2 volts to incoming power to new coil. Looked at the ecu and didn't see any burnt marks. Perhaps replace the ignition module or the pick up coil in the distributor might solve the problem. What do you think?
Thanks for your time

Answer
Hi Gary -

Alternator does not have to be connected. Can you tell me how you are checking for spark?

I double checked the model of your vehicle, and it looks like you have an interference engine, meaning that when the belt breaks, the valves run into he top of the cylinders and become bent. Double check this by doing a compression check.

If so, the fix is a valve job, and that is why it is not starting.

Hope this helps -
