Nissan Repair: Breakout Box (BOB Box) for 88 Maxima?, breakout box, connectivity issues

Question
My 88' Maxima SE has 260000 miles in it and some of the injector and or sensor harnesses have some connectivity issues. The car also jerks during accelerations and I can sense that at least one cylinder is acting up.
I do have the factory service manual for this car and have used it before to figure out continuity and or resistance or voltage at sensors, but it is a pain in the but to do it under the hood, and fumbling with the ECU harness in front of the passenger seat is also a pain.
So, I have been looking for a breakout box for this car, but so far I am out of luck. (With a BOB box I could do all the continutity, voltage and resistance tests with a DVM or scope by sitting in the driver seat even while test driving the car.)
So, yesterday I went to the pick u'r parts in Sun Valley and got myself a ECU harness (only the 1st 3ft long cable from the ECU, and I took apart an ECU and cut out the male harness connectors from the circuit board. My plan is to build a home built breakout box but today I found this website and I figured I'll post this question here maybe you do have a breakout box solution for me.
If I fix something today, something else will give up a month later on this 21 year old Maxima, that's why I need this BOB Box.
What do you think?

Answer
Geza,

A break out box is not going to be found.  If it were me I would be looking at a scan tool to diagnose the problems you are having.  I would go to ebay or the like to find a computer to scan your car.  The miss is probably the distributor.  Oil on the optics can be the issue with your car.  Check the distributor for the presense of oil and if there is you have found 90 percent of your problems.
