Nissan Repair: CA18de knock sensor specs, ca18de engine, volt ohm meter

Question
Hello, my CA18de engine won't drive under 3000rpm. It just hesitates (really bogged down) untill around 3000rpm then takes off sweet. I cleared fault codes on ecu and took it for a drive. It keeps bringing up 34 which is knock sensor. What resistance should i get between the sensor and ground? thanks in advance, craig.

Answer
Craig,

The knock sensor is common to fail on Nissan's.  You are going to need a Haynes Manual or a factory service manual for your specific year to get the proper values.  I can tell you from experience you are looking at replacement and you would be done.  I have never ohmed one out since when the code is thrown the part is defective.  Only once, when a rat had eaten wiring was the knock sensor actually good.

Average knock sensor values for Nissans is between 500 - 620 K ohms
You will need a digital volt ohm meter to perform the test.
