Nissan Repair: 96 Nissan Maxima Manual, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder

i have a 96' Nissan maxima (manual). Clutch Master Cylinder was leaking.Ran out of fluid filled with break fluid twice. Clutch started working again both times. Then Replaced the clutch master cylinder. Bled both the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder several times. Filled with break fluid. Bled several times again. Now clutch won't work, i only have an inch of pedal. Rod was adjusted to the exact length of the old master clutch cylinder. I've been a diesel mechanic for 25 years. Any suggestions. Have you checked the slave master? Maybe the seal is defective on the inside. Lift the outer boot and check to see if fluid comes out. If so, replace the slave. Sometimes it helps to Bench bleed the master as air gets trapped.
