Nissan Repair: 2001 Nissan sentra 1.8, nissan sentra, car idles

car idles okay but when I give gas, it starts off like a lawnmower, When I shift to drive, the idle slows down a lot, and the engine has no power. It starts off with what sounds like a miss every other beat. Help

Hi Mike -

My first question is when was your last tune up?
Sounds like you have a faulty ignition wire, bad or corroded terminal connections on the distributor, carbon tracking in the distributor cap, and of course, the spark plugs.

Have you tuned it up lately, especially noting these things?
