Nissan Repair: Nissan Terrano, nissan terrano, volt ohm meter

Question
I have an intermittent fault, when starting vehicle occasionally it wont take throttle immediately after starting ,if key is switched off and restarted vehicle runs fine, wont do it for days then will do it three times in one night, driving me to drink!!!

Answer
John,

This is probably a cold start condition?  That is, it only does it when the vehicle is cold?  If this is the case, the vehicle could be missing going into cold start mode.  There is a temperature sensor that the computer uses to sense when to richen up the mixture.  If the temperature sensor is not read properly the vehicle will stumble on hard acceleration.  A re-starting of the vehicle allows the computer to register the temperature of the engine and then it performs normally.  You could just replace the temperature sensor that the computer reads.  Or, you can get a volt ohm meter and chase the reading and see if it is the sensor, connector or harness.
