Nissan Repair: blown solenoid?, nissan pickup, conections

Question
hi i own a 1997 nissan pickup and i tryed starting it this morning the starter just clicked and all the power to my cab is gone everything! my battery is not dead and when i touch the conections on the starter togheter it still spins im guessing the solenoid is blown and not sending a positive through the electric componets can anyone help?

Answer
Greg,

First, check the fuses and fuse links at the positive battery cable.  Next, if all of these check good check the ignition relay.  But, my bet is the starter is probably needs to be replaced if it blew the fuse/fuse link at the positive battery cable.  That is, if the starter is binding up and causing too much resistance.  You might just remove the starter and take it a part and lubricate everything and replace the brushes.
