the Gear shift light went out about 4months ago..is this a simple replacement/repair  or do u recommend taking it in to the dealership..

This is an easy one.  If that is the only light that is out it is just a matter of pulling the shifter cover off and the shifter assembly and then remove the light.  Radio Shack is the cheapest place to find a new bulb.  Nissan wants like $10 bucks for two and you can get the same bulbs for about $2 bucks at Radio Shack.
