How do i knowifi have bad head gasket on a 1995 Nissan altima

Hi Paul -

The best way to be sure is to take a compression test. The head gasket could break between an oil jacket or water jacket. Loss of compression in one or more cylinders indicates this break.

Obvious signs would be a rough idle and missing, especially after the engine has overheated, while cranking your engine, water comes out of your radiator, and white smoke (which is actually steam) coming out of your exhaust.
