Nissan Repair: axle seal leak, nissan altima, side seal

we bought my son a 99 nissan altima with 125,000 miles with a 5 speed. our mechanix who has exp with our 95 & 97 altimas ( auto's ) filled all the fluids & the driver side seal leaked, he replaced it & it leaked it was repalced this morning & my son called me tonite & the leak is back any idea why ?

I know this is not what you want to hear but the transmission bearing on that side has worn and that is what is allowing the seal to leak.  To really correct the problem the transmission will need to be taken out and disassembled to replace the bearings.  So, if this is not leaking too bad it could wait.  But, if it is leaking really bad it will need to be done soon.  And, the seal will have to be replaced too as the new one is worn now.
