Nissan Repair: 2002 pathfinder license plate lights, fuse one, fuse box

Question
my 2002 pathfinder license plate lights are both out.  i was wondering if the
lights are connected to a fuse or are they just light bulbs that need to be
replaced.  if a fuse needs to be replace where is it located and what number?

Answer
Hi Gregory

If your taillights are working, it is not the fuse, as it is on the same circuit. So, go ahead and change the bulb. I believe there are 2 of them. A lot of times one burns out, and since the plate is still lit, it is not noticable, until the other one burns out.

Your nearest auto parts store should carry them. I think it is bulb #194, but I could be wrong.

For future information, your fuse box is located under dash, driver's side. The best way to check fuses is with a 12V test lamp. With the accesory on, touch the terminals of the fuse one at a time. If one side lights the lamp and the other doesn;t, replace the fuse.

Hope this helps -
aloha!
