Nissan Repair: 97 altima wont turn over, continuity problem, positive cable

Question
hi von.i have a 97 altima that rolled down a hill and hit a tree. and now it wont turn over. so could it be the shifting linkage, fuse under the hood,i dont know. it hit on the left side of the battery. all the lights and dash works.thanks in advance

Answer
James,

Check the battery and the master cables coming from the battery to see if there is a continuity problem.  You could jump the starter and see how that works.  Basically, take a length of wire from the positive cable and touch it to the small terminal on the starter and see if it spins over.  If it does you have found the problem.  Check the starter relay and the master fuses at the positive cable.
