Nissan Repair: carmy engine swap, fuse boxes, fuse box

Question
Could anyone out there help me?
I recently swapped a 94 Camry engine for a 92 Camry engine. Reason being was that the rod had cracked the block of the 94, thus the swap. At any rate, the fuse boxes on the two engine are different (do not ask me as to why is that). We dropped the engine wired everything up to fit the fuse box for the 94 even though the engine we put in the car is a 92. Now the problem is the car will not crank, although everything else is working properly. We checked and re-checked the wiring.

Now should we re-wire the harness to fit the 92-fuse box since the engine is a 92?

Please can someone help me?

Answer
Kenneth,

I would keep the harness and wiring from your car.  Now, I would look at the system on your old engine, the 1994, and swap sensors that were on your engine for the new one.  That might even include the distributor.  The engines are the same except for some of the sensors being different.  I think the Toyota uses the oil pressure sensor to let the computer know it has pressure and that allows the fuel pump to function.  Check all sensors to make sure you have replaced those that need to be on your new engine.  Also, check the fuel pressure and the ignition to make sure it has power to the distributor.  Now, since you swapped engines you should check to make sure the injectors on the new engine are not clogged.  Email me back if you need more.
