Nissan Repair: 300ZX 85, seperate units, alternator

Question
Non-Turbo Does this car have an Alternator as well as a Voltage Regulator? Or are they  2 seperate units? I replaced the alternator and now I have no interior or running, & brake lights Otherwise why will my battery continue to lose its power.

Answer
Rose,

The alternator and voltage regulator are together in the alternator housing.  I would first check the wiring to the alternator to make sure it is not damaged or wired incorrectly.  Then, check the wires at the positive battery post.  It sounds like it is one of these two things.  There are fuse links at the positive battery post connection and if the old alternator had a power surge or the demand was too high one of these fuse links would blow.
