Nissan Repair: 2002 Nissan Xterra AC Discharge Line, nissan xterra, discharge line

Hi, our ac began blowing warm air when we began using it for the first time this week. We took it into the shop and the mechanic diagnosed that we have a leaking discharge line. It will cost over 300.00. Is there anyway my husband could order the part and do it ourselves? Or, is it an extremely complicated process? Thanks for your help!

You could get the discharge line made up at a hose shop locally and save a bundle.  But, you will still have to have the system evacuated and recharged after the hose is replaced.  Check your local phonebook for hose shops that do airconditioning lines and it is just a matter of taking yours off and having them replace the hose using your metal ends.  Then, back to the airconditioning shop for an evacuation and recharge.
