Nissan Repair: 2002 Frontier overheating with A/C on, rad cap, freon

Question
What could be causing engine overheating with A/C. Temp is fine during hard driving with A/C off. 3.3 L engine Rad. cap has been changed, radiator  and coolant seem fine and are 1 yr. old. Hoses fine. Could low freon due to slow leak cause condenser to get so hot it affects radiator cooling efficiency? Just a thought. Any advice please forward. Thanks

Answer
Terry,

This could be that the thermostat could need to be changed.  Or, the fan is not doing its job.  Check the function of the fan and when the engine is hot if it is working properly when the airconditioning is on.  The thermal load of the airconditioning could be pushing the system to overheat if the fan is inoperative or the thermostat is not working properly.
