If you have the airconditioning on and you move the knob to defrost it does not stay on?  If yours is the manual system you probably have to press the button.  If yours worked before and does not now it could be the ribbon cable that connects the controls to the computer or the computer itself.  Email me back and let me know these things and I will narrow it down for you.
