Nissan Repair: Axle replacement 98 Sentra, nissan sentra, brake rotor

Question
I am in the process of replacing the right(passenger) side axle on a NIssan Sentra 98.  I have pulled the old one off, but I am having trouble getting the new one to seat in the transaxle.  I am afraid to bang on the end with a hammer, but that is the only thing I can think of to get it to seat in all the way.  What can you suggest?

Answer
Hi Eric,

That clip on the end is wicked hard to make seat especially in Nissans. My guys usually just hold the brake rotor and slam it in. Never saw them use a hammer so I suggest against it. Get the wheel side in first. Then use the brake rotor to hang on to and slam it home.
