Nissan Repair: Re:Knock sensor, air flow meter, mass airflow sensor

Question
I previously asked a question regarding the knock sensor with my 1993 Nissan Pathfinder. Well my mechanic did a very detailed trouble-shooting job and nailed the problem. Turned out there was some oil in the air flow meter. He cleaned it out and my truck has never run better! He still gets the knock sensor code but the truck runs great now.

Now I have two simple questions. When I shift into 4 wheel drive should I not see a light of some sort indicating that I am in fact in 4X4?

Lastly I cannot see me enviornment control cluster since it is not lit up. Is there a bulb behind there to be replaced?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Ron,

Oil in the mass airflow sensor is a problem on Nissan and other cars.  Problem is it will not show a code for it.  If the knock sensor code keeps coming back it would good to change the sensor.

The light is probably burnt out and if you take it apart you can get a replacement at Radio Shack for about a dollar a bulb.  The same holds true for the cluster too.
