Nissan Repair: Raido wireing no sound from speakers, wireing harness, nissan pathfinder

I have installed a new raido and I can not get any sound from speakers. I have used the correct wireing harness and doubled cheaked everything. I called pioneer and they said their was a sound arrester on my 1994 nissan pathfinder. I need to remove it and can not seem to locate it or even know what it looks like to remove it. please help.

Sandra, I slept on this one and would like to mention that there is a noise filter on the power side of the switched wire that turns on the head unit.  If this is what Pioneer is talking about it is about three inches long and is in the line leading to the radio.  It looks alot like a Jinga block in size and dimension.
