Nissan Repair: engine stalling, waiting in the shadows, oxygen sensor

Question
I now will plan to replace the original ignition coils.  Previous posts suggested a nissan dealer to buy from, then later posts suggested rockauto.com which is much less costly.  If buying aftermarket coils now, will they be the "improved" type coils?

2000 Maxima 112,000 mi the car started to stall at idle. I had to nurse home more than 500 mi riding the brake and keeping RPM's up some to keep it running.  Finally, close to home the check engine light came on too.  I took to a repair shop and they changed the rear oxygen sensor (per the code they said).  I just don't understand how that could relate to the stalling.  Is my problem fixed or just waiting in the shadows?

Phil,

The oxygen sensor could cause the problem and give the error.  Now, I am wondering if you have had the coils changed yet?  I have a 2000 Maxima and the coils went out at about 110K miles.  Just a thought on the coils so if they have not been changed then look for them to go out in the future.

Answer
Phil,

The rockauto.com cost is less if you can wait and make sure that the guy sends you the correct ones.  courtesynissan.com is another source.  I went with courtesynissan.com due to costing less than walking itot a dealership and the fact that they sent me the later coils that would not fail like the original ones on my 2000 Maxima.
