Nissan Repair: 2000 Nissan Altima GXE wont start, nissan altima gxe, nissan altima

Question
I've owned the car for two years, never had a problem.  Recently, I let the fuel level get down quite low; after filling the tank, drove a couple of miles, then turned the car off.  Next morning, it wouldn't start.  Engine cranks, but wouldn't start.  Called for a tow, and then went back out after about 30 minutes, car started.  Drove to garage, mechanic changed fuel filter, replaced battery, same results.  Won't start in morning, but will start after about 30 minutes.  This is the 3rd day at the garage.  I've tried starting without pressing the accelerator, and then while pressing to the floor; both to no avail.  Tuned up about 2 months ago.

Answer
Anne,

Try your other key.  There is a code with the key that could be going out and the key might need to be reprogrammed.  Also, if you have more than one Nissan key on your ring that could be causing the problem in confusing the computer reading the code.  Check it out and email me back.
