Nissan Repair: Car Vibrates, nissan maxima se, transmission fluid change

Question
Hi,

I own a 1998 Nissan Maxima SE. Recently, while driving on the freeway, my car has started vibrating when I try to accelerate to ~75 mph. The problem does not occur often -- it's only happpened about 3 times so far -- but I'm afraid that it will become more severe. The first time it occurred was a few days after a major snowstorm. I immediately got off the freeway and noticed that a huge chunk of snow had become frozen to my front left rotor. After I removed it, the vibrating disappeared. However, for the occurrances that followed, I could not pinpoint a similar obstruction. I had a similar shuddering problem w/ an older Maxima I owned previously, but the shuddering could clearly be isolated to the engine area, and it was solved w/ a transmission fluid change. This current problem seems to come from the front end somewhat, but as the vibration occurs throughout the car, its hard to tell (it's kind of like I'm sitting on a massage chair w/ the setting cranked to high, but it's definitely not a relaxing experience). I'd appreciate any help you could provide me. Thanks.

Answer
Andy,

You have to go back to basics.

The snow could have knocked off a wheel weight.  So, I would have the tires balanced first.  This is the cheapest.  Second, look a the CV joints and make sure that none are torn.  Last, you could have a broken motor mount and that could one or more from the year of the car.
