Nissan Repair: ABS light, abs system, performance brake

Question
I have A Primera SI 1998 1600cc. The ABS light keeps sticking on. Also I dont think the ABS system is functioning correctly due to this electrical problem. Can you help?

Answer
Nick,

The ABS light is letting you know that it cannot get the brakes to work properly.  Now, that does not mean that the brakes are not working just the ABS.  Now, it could be that one of the sensors on one of the wheels is bad or a wire that goes to one is cut.  But, it has been my experience that the brake fluid is bad since it is a 98 and the fluid needs to be flushed very two years.  I would check the sensors and wires and if all is good I would bleed the brakes with Ford High Performance Brake Fluid.  It is DOT3 and will work great with your car.  I say this because you have to use DOT3 and the Ford Fluid has twice the boiling point of other fluids out there.
