Nissan Repair: skipping problem, nissan maxima, cylinder misfire

Question
Dear von I just bought my son a 99 nissan maxima it seems to be skipping when i pull hills unless i hold a certain speed. When i get to a stop sign it seems to be jumping ever so slightly. You can see the tach move. I changed the plugs, added a new fuel filter, put fuel injector cleaner in the tank.I took the car to a mechanic he put it on a computer and couldn't find nothing wrong other than rear o2 sensor. The car runs smooth otherwise. Thanks for any help you can give me..

Answer
Keith,

I bet the coils are going out.  If you wait you will get the multiple cylinder misfire code.  But, for now, if the check engine light is not on you could drive it.  But, for my money I would say the coils are on their way out.  I just did one a few weeks back that had the same problem.  If you get a factory manual or look up the coil service bulletin it gives the ohm values to check to see if they are defective.
