I have a 1999 Nissan Maxima that shutters when in drive and in neutral. The engine check light came on and I recieved a P303 code from the computer. I replaced the spark plugs and checked the coil, fuel filter and fuel pump and they were O.k. When I removed the upper manifold and checked the fuel injector the bottom of it was damaged. It was missing two plastic tines. After replacing the damamged fuel injector the problem continued. Can you tell me what else the problem could be or what might have caused the fuel injector to get damamged?   Thanks.

You have bad coils.  From 1999 through 2003 the Maxima has had isues with the coils.  Replace the coils and the problem should go away.  Nissan globaly sources injectors.  The Nippondenso injectors are the good ones and the Bosch ones are the problem children.  I have a 2003 350Z and two of my injectors were bad.  Yes, they were Bosch.  So, change the coils and you should be good to go for many more years.
