Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Olds 86 custom supreme charging system, starter solenoid, logical place

Question
I had a starter replaced the other day, and since then I had a charge light go on, also the volt guage stopped working, and also the tac does not work.  There is a direct short somewhere because it keeps blowing the 20amp fuse that goes to the guages. Any answer were the short could be. The alternator is working fine, it might even be charging to much.

Answer
Hi Rich,
Since it all started after the starter install, I would check the wires bolted to the starter solenoid.
I realize it is terribly hard to see, but they are terribly hard to get on correctly in that confined space, so a logical place to look for the problem.
A wire left off, or on crooked, touching a bolt, etc.
