Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Headlights, daytime running lights, high beams

Question
Hi Van,
My problem is with the left low beam. I don't have one. All other headlight functions work, the R low beam, both L and R high beams, the daytime running lights, the fog lights, all work fine. No it isn't the bulb, done checked, switched and replaced. I did find if I pull the underhood relay for the right headlight, the left low beam does come on really dim. Where can I start looking for my problem? Could it be the fuse box itself? Do the relays have to be put in in a specific direction? Please, anything would be helpful at this point.

Thank you.

Answer
Actually, Butch, it sounds like a ground problem. Some vehicles are also ground switched, which means the power is always present at the headlights, and the ground is completed to make them work, but you didn't mention what kind of vehicle you have.
