Pontiac Repair: 3.1 misfire on cylinders #1 and #2, crank case, hose spray

Question
I have a 2003 Grand Prix with a 3.1 . It's not firing on 2 cylinders (#1 and #2) I've replaced the injector on #1 and all the plugs and wires and even the coil pack with no good results. I'm not getting any antifreeze or gas in the oil. It also sounds like the oil pressure is not building up. I pulled the oil cap off while the car was running. I expected to see some kind of oil spray when I did that but there was nothing. Please advise because I am stumped.

Answer
Hi chad:

I would do a compression test on those 2 cylinders and compare them to the other 4 there should not be more the a 10% difference from the higest to the lowest cylinder. start there.. I'm would "guess" you have a mechanical issue of som sort going on here. If the engine keep running and you dumping fuel into the crank case due to 2 cylinders misfiring it will wipe out the lower end of the engine pretty quick. as far a oil spray on the top it's not really what you would expect. it just splashes a bit it's not like a garden hose spray. good luck :-)
